In A Fog

Yesterday the pdoc prescribed Seroquel to help me calm down and sleep - 25 mg, and take one or two based on need. I took 25 mg last night.

I am a zombie today. I could barely haul myself out of bed, and this morning I can't shake the cobwebs. I remember now how that Seroquel affected me last time I was on it. And I was taking 200 mg twice a day. I got almost 6 hours of sleep last night, but it seems it wasn't NEARLY enough. Not like the last week where I was needing zero sleep. Up until yesterday it felt like I was moving into a hypomanic period, but the Seroquel seems to have nipped that in the bud.

Damn - I was looking forward to that.

Guess I should of read both posts before commenting, lol. Yep, they prescribed 200 mg of seroquel for me when I first started taking it. I hadn't slept in a long time when I got the scrpt filled and when I got the bottle I just took one right then. We went to eat and my hubby had to practically carry me to the car just shortly after the food coming. It put me out big time. I slept for 18 hours. I couldn't take it. So, when I was given it again I started with 25 mg to work myself up to the right dose. Twenty-five milligrams still put me out for 14 hours. If I take Seroquel I have to be sure that I can sleep at least 14 hours to get the medicine out of my system. It works though to break insomnia, lol. God bless.

Thanks Teressa.

I have a drink from time to time, I am a person who can drink socially without NEEDING it, or going overboard. Last time I was on Seroquel, I wasn't aware of what it does. One night I dosed, then had 2 drinks. I was so impaired I almost didn't make it to bed. It was scary.

This is a medication to be treated with care.

hMMM, I don't remember what my mg were, but I was taking two whole pills of Seroquel at night. I slept so hard it isn't even funny. The house could've burned down around me and I wouldn't even have known. That, I think, is bad. I hated it when I was awake, too. I was always tired. But, if I didn't take it I didn't sleep either and that was maybe worse. I don't take any sleeping pills now and I have trouble falling asleep; it's annoying. I'm going to try the "warm milk" thing. Apparently when you warm milk up the protiens break down into tryptophan. We shall see.

Hi Jon,
I'll try to read back through your other posts.

I was given seroquel many moons ago. I loved that drugged feeling and the long sleep.

There is some kind of health reason why overweight people shouldn't take it or something, I dunno, but the doc took me off of it.

Hope you get some sleep.
