New Jersey psychiatric center deaf to patients' plight, suit says

Be warned, this is an anger trigger.

From Liz Spikol's blog:

This is a sad case. But what bothers me the most is where was the family of these forgotten people?? It just goes to show how bad things are for those suffering with mental illness. Not only does the system forget about them. But their own families turn their backs too.

On my Health Central blog, someone made a comment about something I'd completely forgotten about. It hasn't been that long ago that people took their mentally ill family member to a "sanitarium", dropped them off, and never looked back. That may be the case here.

It is so typical, I hate to say it. It happens all the time with families and it is sad.

It happened in my family with my Grandmother who was Schizophrenic (or Bipolar).

Her kids left her in a big house all alone to fend for herself and never bothered to help her; like hire a maid/housekeeper, and other personal things.

It makes me so angry.

Daily Dose - you hear things like that regularly, and I agree it makes me angry also.
