Great Blog

I've blogged about this in the past, but I want to bring it up again.

Anxiety, Addiction and Depression Treatments is a blog with GREAT information. For those of us with bipolar or other disorders it's a great way to keep up with information important to us every day. Today is a post about antidepressants for children. Very good post.

Make it a daily read, and if you're a blogger, link to it. It's an excellent resource.

Checked out the site. Pretty good, I think. My son (9 years old) is not on antidepressants, but he takes a blood pressure pill for anxiety and a Schizophrenia drug to help control his Aspergers. I am going to take him to a specialist soon because I think he's misdiagnosed (for one), on the wrong meds (for two) and not in therapy of any kind other than school (for three, and they STINK).

I checked out this site (that's why I'm here)
but the post which includes

"First of all suicide is the cowards way out"

is a dangerously simplistic view and a very unprofessional view.
I watched my dear, beautiful, friend who I tried to save as he slid deeper and deeper into severe depression after attempting sobriety cold turkey.

I was the one who found the note, and then I found him. I understand his pain, it is difficult for me to understand why he couldn't be saved except for those who say it was "his fate".

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. I agree, it's a very simplistic view. I don't think it was meant to be unprofessional, but I agree with you, that's how it comes off.

I can't imagine being in your shoes for that - it had to be devastating. Thanks for commenting.
